Knox Catholic 12 – Stone Memorial 0

April 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The score does not reflect some skill work by the Stone Memorial boys team, but they simply could not put the ball into the net.  A couple of close chances in the second half, but alas, the game was far gone by then.

Novo Brazil 2, CUSA 1 – Impact U14 Title

April 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

A great game between Novo Brazil and CUSA for the U14 Impact Tournament Title. Tight game throughout. Novo Brazil started strong and dominated the first 20 minutes of the game, but could only manage one goal from mid-fielder Stevie Thompson on a great cross in front of the goal. CUSA came out strong in the second half and scored the equalizer early in the second half. Novo Brazil had several chances in the last five minutes, as CUSA ran out of gas and put a goal in the back of the net in the final minute, with a goal by Ross Houston, preventing overtime. Great game from both teams.

In the U14 bracket of the Impact tournament, Novo Brazil has done well so far. Two victories today, over HFC ‘93 Red (2-0) and Evansville Elite ‘94 (3-1). The games were well played, but the field conditions were very wet.

Knox Catholic 3 – CAK 2, April 18th

April 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Great game with both teams playing well.  A lot of momentum shifts.  Catholic dominated most of the first half, but could not put one in.  0-0 at the half.  Brandon Tar scored with a well hit one-touch.  Joey Delerosa seemed to be screened and reacted well, but could not stop the shot.  Catholic answered for 1-1.  Jake Ragland took a 30 yard free kick and placed it well in the lower right corner with a lot of english.  The game looked grim for Catholic.  With three minutes left, there were two quick scored from Richardo Martinez which sealed the game for Catholic.
